AMD Venice Benchmarks Challenge Nvidia Vera CPU

AMD released benchmarks for its 256-core Venice Zen 6 processor, showing performance leads over Nvidia's Vera CPU ahead of a 2026 launch.

AMD has responded to Nvidia's initial Vera CPU benchmarks by releasing its own performance data for the upcoming Venice processor. Part of the Zen 6 Epyc family, Venice features up to 256 cores and outperformed Nvidia's Vera in AMD's tests, which utilized a 100 kW rack power budget. AMD's blog post and accompanying methodology PDF also included Intel CPUs that previously lagged in Nvidia's comparisons. Compared to its own previous products, AMD claims a 50 percent performance increase in SPEC with 33 percent more cores, alongside a 39 percent average gain across other benchmarks. The Venice lineup is expected to be officially presented at the AMD Advancing AI 2026 event, scheduled for approximately six weeks after June 10, 2026.
