Taiwanese prosecutors have indicted Yeh Yen-wei, a former senior engineer at Nanya Technology, for allegedly stealing 32 files related to DRAM manufacturing. Yeh reportedly used a hidden Insta360 X4 Air camera to record sensitive data in restricted areas.
The engineer joined the company in 2022 and communicated with Chinese recruiters in 2025. Before his 2026 resignation, he bypassed security by hiding his camera among snacks and using his credentials to access virtual machines to film production methods.
Nanya's IT team detected the breach via abnormal wireless signals. While Yeh faces charges under the Trade Secrets Act and for breach of trust, forensic teams found no evidence that the captured DRAM process information was transmitted to outside parties.
