Google Confirms Tensor G6 Chip for Pixel 11

Google VP Peng Yu-Chun confirms the Pixel 11 will feature a 3nm Tensor G6 chip with a 7-core CPU and enhanced AI performance.

Google Vice President of Hardware Peng Yu-Chun confirmed to Economic Daily News that all upcoming Pixel 11 models will feature the new Tensor G6 chip. Built on a 3nm process, this latest silicon follows the 3nm N3P technology utilized in the Tensor G5.

The Tensor G6 features a 7-core CPU cluster, which is one fewer core than its predecessor. Despite this reduction, Google claims the new CPU delivers up to 20 percent better power efficiency and a TPU that is 50 percent more capable for on-device AI tasks.

While some industry speculation pointed toward a 2nm node, Google has not made such claims. The shift to a 7-core design emphasizes efficiency and AI performance over raw core counts, as confirmed by hardware specifications found in the DevCheck utility.
