Qualcomm announced the Snapdragon C in June, a new ARM-based system-on-a-chip designed for laptops priced around $300. The platform features an 8-core Kryo CPU with a 3 GHz single-core peak, a 900 MHz Adreno GPU, and an integrated Hexagon NPU for AI tasks.
Internal tests compare a Snapdragon C reference design against an Intel N250-powered Acer TravelMate. Qualcomm claims its chip is 50% faster in single-threaded Cinebench and offers 106% better battery efficiency during Netflix playback despite a larger screen.
Major manufacturers including Acer, Asus, HP, and Lenovo are currently developing devices using the new silicon. The Acer Aspire Go 15 will be among the first to market, featuring the Snapdragon C alongside 8GB of RAM and 512GB of internal flash storage.
