DapuStor Unveils World's First 512 TB PCIe 5.0 SSD

The R6060 series drive uses QLC-NAND flash and an E2 form factor to deliver record-breaking density for AI and scale-out storage.

Chinese firm DapuStor unveiled a massive 512 TB Solid State Drive at the FMS 2026 storage trade fair in California. Part of the R6060 series, this high-capacity drive utilizes QLC-NAND flash memory and the PCIe 5.0 interface to achieve its record-breaking density.

The drive uses an E2 form factor measuring 200 x 76 x 9.5 mm, housing 64 NAND packages on the circuit board. Each package offers 8 TB of capacity. While the R6060 series supports E1.L and E3.L form factors, those versions are currently limited to 256 TB of storage.

Designed for scale-out storage and AI training clusters, this SSD arrives ahead of competitors. While DapuStor is showcasing its 512 TB model now, rivals Sandisk and Samsung are not expected to offer similar 512 TB storage capacities until sometime in 2027.
