Western Digital Unveils New G-DRIVE Storage Line

Western Digital debuted its refreshed G-DRIVE professional storage lineup at Computex 2026, featuring Thunderbolt 5 and e-ink displays.

Western Digital showcased its refreshed G-DRIVE professional storage lineup at Computex 2026, following the brand's unified relaunch in February 2026. The lineup includes portable and rackmount-style solutions, led by the G-DRIVE 8 and G-DRIVE 4. These models feature hardware RAID, Thunderbolt 5 connectivity, daisy-chaining for up to six devices, and e-ink displays. The eight-bay G-DRIVE 8 supports up to 224 TB, while the four-bay G-DRIVE 4 offers up to 80 TB; both are expected in early 2027. The dual-bay G-DRIVE 2 provides up to 56 TB with similar Thunderbolt 5 features and an e-ink display, also slated for early 2027. The single-bay G-DRIVE 1, arriving in late 2026, supports 28 TB Ultrastar HDDs and features a stackable design with a carry handle and an always-on e-ink display. For portable needs, the G-DRIVE ArmorATD offers 6 TB in a triple-layer shock-resistant IP54 enclosure.
