Intel is competing in the mid-range segment with the Core Ultra 5 250K Plus, an 18-core CPU featuring six Performance-cores and 12 Efficient-cores for $200. This LGA 1851 chip is notably cheaper than AMD's six-core Ryzen 5 7600X3D, which costs over $200.
The AM5 socket remains a stable choice for builders, as AMD confirmed support through 2029. This follows the success of the AM4 platform, which reached a 10-year lifespan. The new Ryzen 7 7700X3D offers a budget-friendly entry point into this long-term ecosystem.
