Global PC Shipments Fall 3.6% in 2Q26

Omdia reports 2Q26 PC shipments fell to 65.7 million units as rising component costs and delayed B2B refreshes impact the global market.

Global shipments of desktops, notebooks, and workstations declined 3.6% year-over-year to 65.7 million units in 2Q26, according to Omdia research. Notebooks fell 4.2% to 51.7 million units, while desktops dropped 1.3% to 13.9 million. Market contraction follows price hikes of 20% to 40% for comparable products, driven by rising costs for memory, storage, MLCCs, and PCBs. While Apple launched the MacBook Neo and gained 2% market share with 7.3 million units, other major vendors saw declines. Lenovo led with 16.6 million units and a 25% share despite a 2% dip. HP shipments fell 9% to 13.0 million, and Dell captured 14% of the market with 9.3 million units. ASUS shipped 5.0 million units. Omdia's June survey reveals over half of B2B partners report customers are delaying hardware refreshes despite the October 2025 Windows 10 EOS deadline.
