CXMT DDR5 Memory Modules Reach 8,000 MT/s Speed

Chinese manufacturer CXMT challenges market leaders with new high-speed DDR5 memory kits reaching 8,000 MT/s in recent performance tests.

CXMT, founded in 2016 and currently the fourth largest DRAM manufacturer with a four to eight percent market share, has expanded its presence in the DDR5 sector since 2025. Competing with Samsung, SK Hynix, and Micron, CXMT's technology is appearing in new consumer products. Chinese manufacturer Gloway released a 16 GB kit using 16-Gbit CXMT ICs reaching 6,000 MT/s at CL36-44-44-96. More recently, Lexar modules (LD5U16G76C38BV) featuring CXMT chips achieved 8,000 MT/s at CL40-52-52-126 in a 32 GB kit. These Lexar modules include EXPO and XMP profiles, including a DDR5-7600 setting. Testing on an AMD Ryzen 5 9600X with an MSI B850 MPOWER motherboard using AGESA 1.3.0.1b PatchA confirmed stability via RunMemtestPro. Internal tests of CXMT 24-Gbit ICs have further demonstrated potential speeds up to DDR5-8200.
