Samsung Eyes 20% DRAM Price Increase for Q3 2026

Samsung seeks a 20% price hike for standard DRAM in Q3 2026 as AI infrastructure demand limits server and HBM memory availability.

Standard DRAM memory chip prices are expected to rise in the third quarter of 2026, fueled by surging demand for AI infrastructure. Samsung is negotiating with customers for an average selling price increase of up to 20 percent compared to the previous quarter. While prices rose throughout the first half of 2026, growth is expected to slow in Q3. Limited availability currently impacts server DRAM, High Bandwidth Memory, and low-power LPDDR memory. Samsung holds a higher share of standard DRAM production than SK Hynix, while Micron has moved toward long-term supply agreements with price floors. Additionally, Meta reportedly plans to rent out excess data center capacity, and G.Skill has launched the Trident Z5 NeoX RGB memory kit featuring the new EXPO-ULL profile.
