Dbrand Pulls Portal Case After Valve Legal Threat
Dbrand has halted sales and issued refunds for its $99 Portal 2 Companion Cube case following a legal request from Valve.
Dbrand has officially ceased sales of its $99 case modeled after the Weighted Companion Cube from Portal 2 after receiving a request from Valve's legal team. The accessory maker, which did not seek permission to use the intellectual property prior to launch, has removed all promotional content and the product's sales page. Despite the case being Dbrand's second-fastest selling product ever, Valve declined an offer for an official collaboration. Dbrand confirmed it will refund every order placed for the item. This incident follows Dbrand's history of releasing controversial products like the PS5 Darkplates and the Nintendo Switch OLED Clone of the Kingdom skins.
