Sony SIE President Outlines Live-Service Strategy
Sony Interactive Entertainment President Hideaki Nishino confirms a continued focus on live-service games for PlayStation 5 and PC platforms.
In a recent interview with Famitsu, Sony Interactive Entertainment President Hideaki Nishino reaffirmed the company's commitment to live-service titles following the releases of Concord and Marathon. Sony plans to launch MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls in 2026, targeting PlayStation 5 and PC as the primary platforms for these experiences. While live-service games expand across platforms, Nishino noted that first-party single-player titles remain focused on providing value specifically for the PlayStation console. Beyond software, Sony is expanding its hardware ecosystem with upcoming monitors and speakers. This follows the release of the PlayStation Portal, designed for gaming away from the living room TV. Nishino emphasized utilizing diverse technologies to create new game console experiences across various forms and locations.
