ASUS Debuts 2026 ROG Strix SCAR 18 with RTX 5090

ASUS ROG launches the 2026 Strix SCAR 18, featuring an Intel Core Ultra 9 290HX Plus, RTX 5090 GPU, and a 4K 240 Hz mini-LED display.

ASUS Republic of Gamers announced the 2026 ROG Strix SCAR 18 on June 24, 2026, opening pre-orders in the United States. The flagship laptop features an Intel Core Ultra 9 290HX Plus processor and up to an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 Laptop GPU with a 175 W TGP, delivering 320 W of total system power. Its 18-inch 4K 240 Hz ROG Nebula HDR Display offers over 2000 dimming zones, 1600 nits peak brightness, and 100% DCI-P3 coverage with a VESA ClearMR 11000 rating. Thermal management is handled by a vapor chamber 20% thicker than the previous model, redesigned fans providing 91% more airflow, and 0.1 mm copper fins. The system includes dedicated cooling for PCIe 5.0 SSDs, tool-less bottom panel access with ROG Q-Latch bays, and ROG Nebula ELMB eight-zone strobing. Connectivity is supported by dual Thunderbolt 5 ports, 2.5G LAN, HDMI 2.1 FRL, and WiFi 7.
