Nvidia Unveils Vera Rubin Rack at ISC 2026

Nvidia details the Vera Rubin rack and new European supercomputing projects including Blue Swan and Blue Lion during the ISC 2026 event.

At ISC 2026, Nvidia highlighted its role in 35 new supercomputers across 23 European countries. The Blue Swan supercomputer, approved in April 2026 for FAU and LRZ, features 1,024 NVIDIA GB200 NVL4 GPUs. The LRZ is also building the Blue Lion system for 2027 using Vera Rubin technology. Other major projects include the HammerHAI at HLRS, the Jupiter system, and the IT4LIA AI factory with over 8,000 GB200 NVL4 GPUs. The Barcelona Supercomputing Center is upgrading MareNostrum5 with a mix of GB300 NVL72 and GB200 NVL4 units. Nvidia's Vera Rubin rack contains 144 GPUs, delivering over 7 ExaFLOPS of AI performance and 5 PetaFLOPS of native FP64 performance. While a single Rubin GPU offers 33 TFLOPS of FP64, trailing the B200's 40 TFLOPS and AMD's Instinct MI430X estimate of 204 TFLOPS, Nvidia continues to push high-performance computing.
