Commodore Debuts Callback 8020 Linux Flip Phone

On June 16, 2026, Commodore announced the Callback 8020, a Linux-based flip phone running a custom Jolla Sailfish OS. Designed to eliminate distractions, the device features hard blocks against browsers, social media, and email apps, though it remains compatible with 99% of Android apps via APK sideloading. Powered by a MediaTek Helio G81 SoC with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage, the phone includes a 3.25-inch IPS display, a T9 keypad, and a 48MP Sony rear camera. Audiophile features include ESS and Cirrus Logic chips, an integrated DAC, and HQ IEM earphones. The hardware supports global LTE, Wi-Fi, and GPS, and features a swappable battery with Dual-SIM slots.
