AMD Unveils EXPO Ultra Low Latency Standard

AMD introduced the EXPO Ultra Low Latency standard at Computex, designed to enhance PC memory performance by unlocking tertiary timings for tuning. The feature exposes three specific values: TccdL, TccdL_WR, and TccdL_WR2, where "ccd" refers to column to column delay. Motherboard manufacturers ASUS and MSI are already rolling out BIOS updates for Socket AM5 and X670E boards, including several ROG Strix models, to support these new profiles. According to AMD, a Ryzen 7 9700X can see performance gains of up to 13% over JEDEC memory and approximately 4% over standard EXPO kits. These technical advancements arrive as memory vendors project that current pricing trends will persist through 2028.
