Intel Raptor Lake Next Coming to LGA1700 in 2027

Intel is reportedly developing Raptor Lake Next desktop CPUs for the LGA1700 socket, targeting a 2027 launch without the Ultra branding.

Intel is developing a new line of Socket LGA1700 desktop processors codenamed Raptor Lake Next, scheduled for a 2027 release. Following the 13th Gen Raptor Lake and 14th Gen Raptor Lake Refresh, these chips arrive as Core Ultra Arrow Lake lacks DDR4 backwards compatibility. A report by JayKihn suggests Intel may use the Core Series 3 numbering scheme for these processors, which will omit the Ultra brand extension, denoting the absence of an integrated NPU. While Raptor Lake-S silicon physically contains 8 P-cores and 16 E-cores, the top part in the Raptor Lake Next series is expected to feature an 8P+8E configuration. Intel intends for these chips to occupy entry-level through performance market segments, specifically designed to avoid competing with the market space of Core Ultra Nova Lake-S.
