iFixit Teardown Reveals Trump Mobile T1 Origins

An iFixit teardown confirms the Trump Mobile T1 is a modified HTC U24 Pro clone with components primarily sourced from Chinese factories.

A recent iFixit teardown using a Lumafield industrial CT scanner reveals the Trump Mobile T1 is a gold-painted clone of the 2024 HTC U24 Pro. The internal layout, chip placement, and screw patterns are identical, allowing technicians to successfully swap mainboards between the two devices. Both phones utilize a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 processor and a 6.8-inch curved display. While the T1 features a redesigned speaker grille and a relocated camera flash, its core components are sourced from Guangdong, China. The T1 uses a 19.35-watt-hour battery manufactured by Newlix Mfg Inc in the Philippines, though charging is capped at 30 watts compared to the HTC's 60 watts. Despite claims of Florida assembly, the display and chassis arrive pre-assembled from overseas. Data breaches indicate only 30,000 units have moved, far below the 600,000 claimed preorders. iFixit issued a 3-out-of-10 repairability score.
