Leaked details for AMD's Zen 6 architecture suggest clock speeds exceeding 6.5GHz and a new 12-core chiplet design for AM5 desktops.

A leak from Moore's Law Is Dead reveals AMD's Zen 6 architecture, codenamed Olympic Ridge for desktops, targets clock speeds over 6.5GHz and a 10% IPC gain over Zen 5. The architecture reportedly features 12-core chiplets with 48MB of L3 cache and 1MB of L2 cache per core, enabling flagship models with up to 26 cores on the AM5 platform. AMD may utilize silicon bridges to replace current interconnects. Mobile variants include Gator Range, the Medusa Point successor to Strix Point featuring RDNA 4 graphics, and Bumblebee, a six-core hybrid design for handhelds. High-end Medusa Halo configurations may pair Zen 6 chiplets with Alpha Trion GPU dies containing 48 compute units. Despite an unspecified issue with B0 silicon and no roadmap at Computex 2026, Zen 6 client and Venice EPYC processors are speculated for an early 2027 release.
