AMD denied a warranty claim for a Ryzen 9 7950X3D processor owned by user u/VINCENT199411, citing physical damage which is not covered under their policy. The user reported the system failed while idle and stated the CPU was never manually overclocked. While the CPU substrate was found to be swollen, GIGABYTE's investigation of the associated motherboard revealed a corrupt BIOS but no short-circuits. GIGABYTE identified and repaired a dent in the CPU socket pins caused by external force, confirming the board functioned correctly with a different 7950X3D after a BIOS re-flash. Amidst these reports, AMD and motherboard manufacturers continue to advise all users to upgrade to the latest BIOS versions to ensure system stability and prevent potential hardware issues.
