Intel Arctic Sound 2T GPU Sample Surfaces Online

Images of Intel's cancelled Arctic Sound 2T GPU have surfaced, revealing a dual-tile Xe-HP architecture with HBM2E and 1024 EUs.

X user ChipsByLayers recently shared images of an Intel Arctic Sound 2T GPU sample, a product from the cancelled Xe-HP workstation and server lineup. The Intel Confidential unit features a QVS8 1.00 GHz ID, two compute chiplets, and four HBM2E sites. Originally planned in 1-Tile, 2-Tile, and 4-Tile configurations, this specific 2-Tile model was intended to house 1024 EUs. While Intel's graphics team began Xe-based development in 2018, the Arctic Sound series was scrapped years before June 2026. Intel has since launched the multi-tile Ponte Vecchio for the Aurora supercomputer and cancelled Falcon Shores, with Jaguar Shores planned for 2027. Current Intel GPUs utilize GDDR or LPDDR, though the upcoming Crescent Island is expected to feature Xe3P architecture and up to 480 GB of LPDDR5X memory.
