AMD to Relaunch Picasso APUs for Mobile in 2026

AMD is reintroducing Zen+ Picasso APUs in Q2 2026 to support DDR4 memory, featuring the Ryzen 3 3100U and Ryzen 5 3501U mobile chips.

AMD plans to reintroduce its Picasso APU lineup for the mobile segment starting in the second quarter of 2026. These chips, based on the Zen+ architecture and Vega GPU, are designed to enable continued use of DDR4 memory. Manufactured by Globalfoundries on a 12 nm process, the lineup includes the Ryzen 3 3100U and the Ryzen 5 3501U. The Ryzen 3 3100U offers two cores and two threads with a maximum clock speed of 3.2 GHz. The Ryzen 5 3501U features four cores and eight threads, reaching up to 3.7 GHz, and includes a Vega 8 iGPU with 8 Compute Units. Both APUs support a dual-channel DDR4-2400 memory interface, providing a cost-effective solution for mobile devices utilizing older memory standards.
