MSI Claw 8 EX AI+ Debuts at $1,799 With Intel Arc

MSI's Claw 8 EX AI+ handheld launches with Intel Arc G3 Extreme graphics and 32GB RAM, priced significantly higher than market rivals.

MSI has officially listed the Claw 8 EX AI+ handheld on its website for $1,799, while retailer Newegg offers the device at a slightly lower $1,699. Unveiled at Computex in June 2026, the handheld features the Intel Arc G3 Extreme APU with Arc B390 integrated graphics and 32GB of LPDDR5X memory. This pricing places the device well above the $949 Steam Deck OLED and the $999 ROG Xbox Ally X featuring the Ryzen Z2 Extreme. MSI product marketing lead Andy Chu attributed the high cost to rising memory and storage component prices, noting that Intel has mandated specific memory speeds for its Panther Lake silicon. While AMD Strix Halo handhelds exceed $2,000, Chu warned that the Claw 8 EX AI+ could see another price hike in the coming months as Intel continues its Arc G3 Extreme rollout.
