AMD and Rackspace Partner for 30MW AI Deployment
AMD and Rackspace Technology sign a definitive agreement to deploy 30 MW of AMD-based compute for regulated enterprise AI workloads.
AMD and Rackspace Technology have signed a definitive agreement for the phased deployment of an initial 30 MW footprint of AMD-based compute across global data centers from late 2026 through 2028. Operationalizing a May 7, 2026 Memorandum of Understanding, the deal establishes AMD as a strategic technology partner at the silicon layer of Rackspace's governed AI stack. The collaboration utilizes AMD Instinct GPUs, including MI355X and MI350P models, and AMD EPYC CPUs to serve regulated enterprise workloads such as healthcare. The agreement covers four integrated capabilities: Enterprise AI Cloud, Enterprise Inference Engine, Inference as a Service, and Bare Metal AMD Instinct. Rackspace CEO Gajen Kandiah and AMD SVP Dan McNamara noted that both companies are committing personnel to jointly develop and pursue customer opportunities across regulated industries.
