China's LineShine Named World's Fastest Supercomputer
China's LineShine supercomputer, featuring 2 ExaFLOPS of performance and LX2 Armv9 processors, is now the world's fastest system.
Presented at the ISC 2026 conference, China's LineShine is the world's fastest supercomputer, achieving over 2 ExaFLOPS. Developed by Chief Designer Yutong Lu of the National Supercomputer Center in Shenzhen, the system was completed in 2025 and operational by early 2026. It features 13,789,440 cores using LX2 Armv9 processors with SME and SVE support. Each LX2 chip contains two 152-core chiplets at 1.55 GHz, four I/O dies, and eight HBM chips providing 32GB of memory at 4TB/s bandwidth. The HBM operates in Flat or Cache modes, complemented by 128GB of off-package DRAM per chiplet. Entirely liquid-cooled, the system consumes 42.22 Megawatts with an efficiency of 52.07 Gigaflops per Watt, ranking 50th on the Green500. The system was officially revealed in April 2026.
