A 32-core Intel Diamond Rapids-P CPU was spotted on the SiSoftware database using the Johnson City reference platform. The chip features 240 MB of L3 cache, 64 MB of L2 cache, and a 1.1 GHz clock speed. It is built on the advanced 18A-P process node.
The 18A-P technology utilizes Gate-All-Around and PowerVia backside power delivery to offer 18% lower power or a 9% performance boost over standard 18A. The Oakstream platform supports up to 650W CPUs and uses the LGA 9324 socket for these processors.
Intel's Xeon 7 lineup is expected in 2027 to compete with AMD's 256-core Zen 6 EPYC chips. Diamond Rapids will eventually scale to 192 cores with PCIe Gen6 and 16-channel memory support, followed by the SMT-enabled Coral Rapids generation.
