KIOXIA Debuts GP1 PCIe 6.0 SSD with 10M IOPS

KIOXIA America announced the GP1 Series PCIe 6.0 NVMe SSD, the first in a new line of super high IOPS storage optimized for GPU workloads.

KIOXIA America, Inc. unveiled the KIOXIA GP1 Series PCIe 6.0 NVMe SSD on August 3, 2026. As the first entry in the GP Series of Super High IOPS SSDs, the drive utilizes KIOXIA XL-FLASH generation 2 memory to deliver up to 10 million random read IOPS.

Designed to PCIe 6.0 and NVMe 2.2 specs, the GP1 Series supports E3.S and E1.S form factors with air or cold-plate liquid cooling. It offers 50 DWPD endurance and targets AI storage architectures by extending High Bandwidth Memory as a flash-based tier.

Optimized for GPU direct access, the GP1 architecture is built to scale toward 100 million IOPS in future generations. Evaluation samples will reach select customers by late 2026 following a showcase at FMS in Santa Clara from August 4 to August 6.
