AMD Launches RX 9050 4GB with RDNA 4 Architecture

AMD has expanded its 2026 lineup with the RX 9050 4GB, a region-specific OEM variant of the standard 8GB model. Built on RDNA 4 architecture, this card features a 64-bit memory bus and delivers 144 GB/s of bandwidth. While it follows the 4GB VRAM trend seen in 2022's RX 6500 XT, the RX 9050 supports modern FSR 4 upscaling. This distinguishes it from 2019's GTX 1650 Super, which lacked hardware ray tracing. In contrast, the RX 6500 XT supports DirectX 12 Ultimate, though Nvidia's FrameView measured 63.9 ms of latency in Fortnite with Lumen enabled. Memory demands remain high; Counter-Strike 2 uses 4.6 GB on the RX 6500 XT compared to 3.5 GB on the GTX 1650, while Apex Legends lacks upscaling support. The RX 9050 arrives a year after the 2025 RTX 5050 review.
