DDR5 Motherboards Dominate 90% of Market Share
Mindfactory sales data for July 2026 shows DDR5 motherboards capturing over 90% of the market despite significant price increases.
German retailer Mindfactory reports that DDR5-compatible motherboards now account for over 90% of total sales as of July 2026, while DDR4 models have fallen to just 9.5% of the market. This shift occurs despite DDR5 prices increasing fivefold compared to the previous year. In the AMD ecosystem, the B550 remains the most popular chipset for the AM4 lineup, which recently saw the release of the Ryzen 7 5800X3D 10th Anniversary edition. Meanwhile, the AM5 platform continues to grow with the B650 and B850 chipsets. On the Intel side, the company is reportedly preparing new product lines under the Raptor Lake NEXT and Nova Lake branding to compete in this evolving hardware landscape.
