Valve to Fulfill Steam Machine Orders by 2026

Valve announced that Steam Machine reservations will be fulfilled by the end of 2026, with the queue varying by product and region. Purchase emails are being sent to reservation holders based on a randomized list order, and some regions have already transitioned to waitlist invitations. Alongside these updates, Valve released STP format CAD files for the console's external shell on GitHub under a CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 license, where the device is labeled the "Gabe Cube." This release follows a previous legal dispute where Valve threatened Dbrand over a Portal 2-inspired skin. While the CAD files allow for custom cases, Valve engineer Pierre-Loup Griffais warned that any damage sustained while transferring components to a third-party shell will not be covered under the official warranty.
