3mdeb Debuts Dasharo v0.9.0 for AMD AM5 Platform

Firmware developer 3mdeb launches the first open-source UEFI firmware for AMD AM5, featuring initial support for Zen 4 Phoenix APUs.

Firmware development firm 3mdeb has released Dasharo v0.9.0, marking the first open-source UEFI firmware for AMD's AM5 platform. Built on Coreboot and AMD’s openSIL framework, the release provides initial support for Zen 4 Phoenix APUs and the MSI Pro B850-P WiFi motherboard. The update includes 19 features for the B850 board, such as UEFI Secure Boot, fTPM, fast boot, and AMD CPU temperature reporting. It also features an integrated SBOM and EFI system partition scanning. This development builds on 3mdeb's previous work for the Gigabyte MZ33-AR1 server board. While AMD plans to transition from AGESA to the more secure openSIL by Zen 6, 3mdeb has already ported the framework to older Ryzen CPUs. Dasharo v0.9.0 is currently available as a hardware-firmware bundle for the MSI Pro B850-P through the 3mdeb shop.
