Nvidia Launches Titan X Pascal for 1,299 Euro
Nvidia debuts its second Titan X graphics card, featuring the GP102 architecture and 12 GB of GDDR5X VRAM for high-end performance.
Released on August 2, 2016, the Titan X (Pascal) marked the first Titan model to drop the GTX prefix. Priced at 1,299 Euro and sold directly by Nvidia with a two-card limit per customer, the GPU features 3,584 shader units, 96 ROPs, and 224 texture units. Built on a 471 mm² chip with 12.0 billion transistors, it delivers a 1,759 MHz boost clock and 480 GB/s memory bandwidth. In UHD testing, the 250-Watt card outperformed the reference GTX 1080 by approximately 32 percent. This release preceded the 819 Euro GTX 1080 Ti and the Titan Xp, which arrived in early 2017. Nvidia's flagship lineage has since evolved through the RTX 2080 Ti in 2018, the RTX 3090 in 2020, and the RTX 4090 in 2022, with the next-generation RTX 5090 scheduled for launch on January 30, 2025.
