LG Display unveiled its new FMM-Less innovative Pixel Patterning (FLiPP) technology at the International Meeting on Information Display 2026 in Busan. This OLED manufacturing method replaces traditional fine metal masks with a UV light etching process.
The FLiPP process utilizes 8.5th-generation mother glass as a single piece, achieving 64% higher utilization efficiency than divided substrate methods. It supports displays from 1 to 100 inches, targeting tablets, monitors, wearables, and large TVs.
Compared to FMM panels, FLiPP increases brightness by 1.6 times and lifespan by 2.4 times while cutting power use by 13%. The 55% aperture ratio improvement marks a significant leap in OLED performance alongside the award-winning HDS scanning technology.
