Framework 12 Laptop Gains Intel Wildcat Lake CPUs

The updated Framework 12 features Intel Core Series 3 chips, delivering up to 70% better battery life and a new backlit keyboard.

Framework has announced a new version of the Framework 12, an entry-level two-in-one laptop designed for study and light work. This updated model features Intel Wildcat Lake processors, also known as Core Series 3, which are built on the advanced 18A node.

The device retains a 50 Wh battery but adds a backlit keyboard, a 1080p webcam, and a fingerprint sensor. It comes pre-installed with Fedora Linux. The Intel Core 7 350 processor includes two Xe GPU cores, replacing the previous 13th Gen Raptor Lake-U chips.

The shift to Wildcat Lake delivers significant efficiency gains for the touch-and-type device. Framework claims the new model provides 57% more battery life during web browsing and 70% more while streaming Netflix compared to the previous laptop generation.
