Phison Warns of NAND Shortages Starting August 2026

Phison CEO Pua Khein-Seng reports NAND capacity gaps and plans a two-year inventory build to support AI and Cloud Service Providers.

Phison CEO Pua Khein-Seng reports that NAND production capacity is currently unable to meet short-term demand. Manufacturers have informed Phison that establishing new capacity requires four years, leading to projected NAND shortages starting in August 2026.

To address this, Phison is building a strategic two-year inventory of Enterprise SSDs for Cloud Service Providers and AI firms. While the company achieved a record 65.3% gross margin in Q2 2026, rising procurement costs may limit future margin expansions.

Phison is now accelerating its product roadmap for Enterprise and AI-SSDs under the Phison 3.0 initiative. By focusing on AI Storage and Edge AI platforms, the company aims to maintain long-term partnerships despite rising prices and supply constraints.
