Lexar Launches Thor Ultra PCIe 5.0 NVMe SSDs

Lexar's new Thor Ultra SSDs feature a 6nm DRAM-less controller and deliver sequential read speeds of up to 11 GB/s.

Lexar has officially introduced its new Thor Ultra series of PCIe 5.0 NVMe SSDs, utilizing a 6 nm DRAM-less controller and an M.2 2280 form factor. These high-performance drives feature a PCIe 5.0 x4 interface and are available in 512 GB to 4 TB capacities.

The 1 TB, 2 TB, and 4 TB models deliver sequential read speeds up to 11 GB/s and write speeds up to 10 GB/s. The 512 GB variant offers 9.9 GB/s reads and 5 GB/s writes. Performance is bolstered by Dynamic SLC Cache, HBM, and random speeds up to 2.2 million IOPS.

Built for longevity, the series offers a 1.5 million hours MTBF and up to 3,000 TBW endurance. Each drive includes a five-year warranty and Lexar DiskMaster Manage software for health monitoring. Pricing and availability for the new lineup are not yet announced.
