Official Xbox-for-PC Emulator Runs 360 Games

Microsoft's official Xbox-for-PC emulator now supports Xbox 360 and original titles when combined with the SlimEra component of XWine1.

Microsoft's official Xbox-for-PC emulation program, built on Xbox 360 Backward Compatibility files, now supports original Xbox games. Developers discovered these capabilities using dumped files from Xbox 360 consoles. By combining the XeO3 PC port with SlimEra—a component of the XWine1 compatibility layer—users can run both Xbox 360 and original Xbox games. XWine1 announced this breakthrough on July 23, 2026, noting the official emulator offers lower input latency than the open-source Xemu. While Xbox One and Series S/X consoles natively support the first two generations, Videocardz reported on July 24, 2026, that official PC ports remain unconfirmed. Some titles like Midnight Club: Los Angeles, which struggles on Xenia and RPCS3, still crash in the official container.
