Intel 14A High-Volume Production Set for 2028

Intel CEO Lip-Bu Tan confirms 14A process technology will reach high-volume production in 2028 following 2027 risk production milestones.

Intel CEO Lip-Bu Tan announced that the company's 14A process technology is scheduled for high-volume production in 2028, with internal risk production beginning in the second half of 2027. The 14A node has already outpaced the 18A process in defect density and transistor performance. Intel has released PDK 0.5 for 14A, with PDK 0.9 expected in October 2026. In Q2, Intel 7, Intel 3, and Intel 18A exceeded internal volume targets. The company has also started risk production for 18A-P. Upcoming Intel 18A products include the Panther Lake Core Ultra Series 3 and Wildcat Lake Core Series 3 lineups. These developments highlight Intel's progress in advancing its semiconductor manufacturing roadmap and meeting production goals across multiple process nodes.
