ADATA Chairman Chen Li-bai reports that DRAM shortages will persist for another 10 years, identifying electricity and memory as the world's most scarce resources during this period. As AI computing demand rises and global data centers increase electricity needs, cloud providers like Meta and xAI have begun leasing excess compute capacity. While Samsung, SK Hynix, and Micron plan DRAM and NAND expansion projects between 2028 and 2035, Chen previously warned of price increases reaching 30% for DRAM and 40% for NAND by Q3 2026. Regarding AI bubble concerns, Chen suggested discussions should wait until 2030, 2040, or 2025. These projections follow a stock decline for TSMC after a recent earnings call.
