TSMC to Raise Chip Production Prices in 2027

TSMC will raise prices for advanced and mature chip nodes by up to 10% in 2027, following negotiations with clients like Apple and Nvidia.

TSMC, led by CEO C.C. Wei, will raise prices for semiconductor manufacturing services starting in 2027. Advanced technologies, defined as 7nm-class and below, will see baseline increases of 5% to 10%. Customers requiring extra high-performance computing (HPC) capacity may face premiums of 10% to 15%. Mature nodes, including 12nm, 16nm, and 28nm-class technologies, will also see increases up to 10%. These adjustments follow negotiations completed in July 2026 with clients like Apple, AMD, Nvidia, and MediaTek. In Q2 2026, advanced technologies generated 77% of TSMC's revenue, while mature nodes contributed 23%. The company currently maintains a 68% gross margin. This move follows similar price hikes by UMC, Vanguard International Semiconductor, and Intel for its client and data center CPUs.
