CXMT DDR5 Capacity Booked Through 2027
Chinese DRAM maker ChangXin Memory Technology has reportedly filled its production capacity through 2027 as major PC vendors secure supply.
Chinese DRAM manufacturer ChangXin Memory Technology (CXMT) has reached full production capacity through the end of 2027, according to a DigiTimes report. While every major PC manufacturer has completed testing for CXMT memory, smaller vendors are struggling to secure allocations as the company prioritizes its largest customers. Major firms including Dell, HP, Lenovo, and Apple are expected to receive priority shipments. Apple has reportedly lobbied U.S. officials to allow the use of CXMT DRAM in products destined for the Chinese market, even as the United States delayed a potential decision to add the firm to its entity list. Motherboard vendors are currently optimizing platforms for CXMT-based DDR5 modules to meet domestic Chinese demand. These supply developments occur as consumer memory prices reach all-time highs.
