Asus ROG Xbox Ally X20 Standalone Version Planned

Asus plans to offer its ROG Xbox Ally X20 gaming handheld as a standalone product, moving away from its original AR headset bundle plan.

Taiwanese manufacturer Asus presented the ROG Xbox Ally X20 at Computex 2026 to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the Republic of Gamers brand. While originally intended for sale only in a bundle with ROG XREAL R1 Edition 20 Gaming AR glasses, spokesperson Anthony Spence confirmed a standalone version is now being discussed. The device features a 7.4-inch OLED display with a 1,920 x 1,080 resolution, 120 Hz variable refresh rate, and 1,400 nits peak HDR brightness. Encased in a transparent-gray housing, it is powered by an 8-core AMD Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme chip, 24 GB of LPDDR5X RAM, and a 1 TB PCIe 4.0 SSD. The 756-gram handheld includes TMR sticks, an 80 Wh battery, and a rotatable D-pad. Running Windows 11 Home, it supports USB4, Wi-Fi 6E, and Bluetooth 5.4.
