Samsung Electronics America is moving its headquarters from New Jersey to Texas by the end of 2026. A WARN notice indicates 739 roles are affected at the Englewood Cliffs campus, which opened in September 2025. This follows an enterprise-wide reduction in force announced on June 30, 2026, which included approximately 100 layoffs at the Plano, Texas, site. While the company's chip division reported a 58.5 billion dollar second-quarter operating profit—a 19-fold year-on-year increase driven by rising DRAM prices—the mobile division expects a quarterly loss. The relocation impacts the unit managing U.S. sales for smartphones and appliances, but excludes semiconductor operations. Samsung's Texas footprint currently includes fabs in Austin and Taylor. Additionally, Samsung SDS America notified 179 potential job cuts in Ridgefield Park, New Jersey.
