NVIDIA Unveils Vera Data Center CPU at SIGGRAPH

NVIDIA revealed its Vera CPU featuring the Olympus architecture, promising 2X performance over x86 server chips and launching with Rubin.

At SIGGRAPH 2026, NVIDIA detailed its Vera data center processor, a monolithic design featuring the Olympus CPU core architecture. Launching alongside Rubin AI accelerators, Vera uses a 10-wide instruction decode stage and supports two-way Simultaneous Multi-Threading. The CPU connects cores via the second-generation Scalable Coherent Fabric, offering three times the core-to-core bandwidth of competing chiplet designs. Paired with an LPDDR5X memory subsystem using SOCAMM2 modules, Vera delivers 40% lower latency, triple the bandwidth per core, and five times the power efficiency of current DDR5 platforms. Benchmarks show Vera completing jobs 1.5 times faster at Perplexity, reducing NYSE streaming latency sixfold, and outperforming Intel and AMD chips by seven times in Los Alamos National Laboratory simulations.
