AMD Unveils Versal Premium Gen 2 MoP Adaptive SoCs
AMD's new Versal Premium Gen 2 MoP SoCs integrate 32GB LPDDR5X, offering 288GB/s bandwidth and 60% board space savings for industrial use.
On June 30, 2026, AMD announced the Versal Premium Gen 2 Memory on Package (MoP) adaptive SoCs, integrating up to 32 GB of LPDDR5X at 9,000 Mb/s into a single package. This architecture delivers 288 GB/s of bandwidth and reduces board area by up to 60% compared to discrete designs. Built for test and measurement, professional video editing, and VPX systems, the devices feature CXL 3.1 and PCIe 6.0 hard IP at 64 Gb/s. Security is prioritized with PCIe Integrity and Data Encryption, integrated DDR memory encryption, and 400G High-Speed Crypto Engines. The SoCs support industrial operations from -40 to 110 degrees Celsius with a 15-plus-year life cycle. While standard Gen 2 devices are shipping now, MoP samples arrive in late 2026, with production shipments expected in the second half of 2027.
