Intel Nova Lake-S desktop engineering samples have surfaced in Linux testing records, revealing configurations with 24 and 28 CPU cores. Identified as NVL-S development hardware with CPUID 300F15, these units are running firmware dated July 16, 2024.
The 24-core sample features an 8P + 12E + 4 LP-E layout, while the 28-core version uses an 8P + 16E + 4 LP-E setup. Notably, these samples expose AVX-512 support, a feature Intel previously removed from consumer Alder Lake chips via later firmware updates.
Nova Lake is positioned to succeed Arrow Lake on Intel's mainstream desktop platform. While testing continues on UDIMM-equipped reference boards, final SKUs, clock speeds, cache sizes, and official pricing for the Nova Lake-S lineup remain unconfirmed.
