Valve has released the SteamOS 3.8.26 beta update, focusing on critical bug fixes for desktop and game modes. The release addresses performance degradations occurring during composition, specifically when FSR is enabled, and resolves VR support issues.
The update fixes a Firefox fullscreen freeze in Desktop Mode and prevents resolutions below 640x480. It also stabilizes Bluetooth for Nintendo Switch Pro controllers and fixes SD card freezing issues on the Steam Deck and MSI Claw during suspend cycles.
This beta expands Valve's reach by fixing Wi-Fi on the MSI Claw and battery displays on the Lenovo Legion Go. With SteamOS support now spanning Lenovo and ASUS handhelds, these VR and stability tweaks prepare the ecosystem for the upcoming Steam Frame.
