Intel Restarts CPU Supply in China Amid High DDR5 Costs

Intel resumes shipping 10th to 14th gen CPUs in China as motherboard vendors ramp up DDR4 production due to soaring DDR5 memory prices.

Intel is reportedly restarting the supply of its 10th, 12th, 13th, and 14th generation processors in mainland China, including the Comet Lake, Alder Lake, Raptor Lake, and Raptor Lake Refresh families. This move coincides with motherboard vendors increasing production of DDR4-compatible boards, as DDR5 memory kits are currently selling at 4 to 5 times their original prices. Intel's 10th and 12th generation families utilize these DDR4-compatible motherboards. Simultaneously, Intel is increasing global production of 13th and 14th generation processors and preparing to deploy Raptor Lake NEXT alongside Nova Lake. Raptor Lake NEXT desktop SKUs, featuring up to 20 cores, will include Core 7, Core 5, and Core 3 series. The Raptor Lake NEXT HX family will include Core 7 and Core 9 SKUs but reportedly exclude the Core 5 series.
