Intel Breaks Ground on Santa Clara Foundry Site

Intel CEO Lip-Bu Tan broke ground on a 107,000 square-foot expansion at the Santa Clara Bowers Campus to support EUV mask production.

Intel Foundry has officially broken ground on a new manufacturing expansion at its Bowers Campus in Santa Clara, California. Led by CEO Lip-Bu Tan, the project follows an announcement made several months ago and involves the construction of two three-story buildings across a 107,000 square-foot area. These facilities, scheduled to begin construction in mid-2026, will focus on manufacturing, fabrication, and central utilities. Specifically, the site will produce critical masks for EUV lithography required for future process nodes, including 18A-P and 14A. This expansion strengthens Intel Foundry's portfolio, which currently offers advanced process node technologies, glass core substrates, and advanced packaging solutions to meet evolving industry demands.
