NVIDIA Cancels GeForce RTX 5050 9GB GPU

Reports indicate NVIDIA has canceled the GeForce RTX 5050 9GB edition while relaunching the RTX 3060 12GB to address market needs.

According to MEGAsizeGPU, NVIDIA has canceled the GeForce RTX 5050 9GB edition, a graphics card designed to mitigate memory shortages in the entry-level segment. The canceled model was expected to utilize the GB206 die and feature 2,560 CUDA cores, paired with three 3GB GDDR7 modules. This configuration would have employed a 96-bit memory bus and 28 Gbps memory to deliver 336 GB/s of bandwidth, representing a 12.5% increase in VRAM capacity over the current 8GB model. In contrast, the existing RTX 5050 uses the GB207 die with 8GB of 20 Gbps GDDR6 memory on a 128-bit bus, providing 320 GB/s of bandwidth. Following this cancellation, NVIDIA is reportedly relaunching the GeForce RTX 3060 12GB edition to bolster its lower-end GPU lineup.
